The goal of the Early Learners Program (ELP) is to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten, and to strengthen the skills of kindergartners who attend school elsewhere in the afternoon. We read and write stories, learn name recognition, letter sounds and names, fine motor skills for using tools like pencils, crayons, markers, picking things up, building, and more. Children will also learn number awareness, number recognition, making groups, sorting, measuring, and more, and will learn colors and shapes. This is a morning program, where children attend one hour, twice a week, throughout the school year. We meet on our "study bus" in their neighborhoods, so transportation isn't a challenge to participate.
