The Early Learners Program (ELP) is NEST's preschool & kindergarten supplemental program. We help preschoolers prepare for kindergarten in areas like letter sound and name recognition, number recognition and awareness, and social skills like listening to stories, other people, taking turns, etc. We help kindergartners improve their reading skills with letter sounds and recognition, blend-as-you-read, letter formation, etc., and may work on strengthening math skills as well. We aim to have a very low ratio of children to adults, and will work outside as time and activities permit.

Some spots on our sign-up are for substitute roles where a regular volunteer is unavailable, and some spots are recurring. You can sign up as your schedule permits, but also let us know if you'd like a regular spot, as it's great when we can offer consistency of familiar faces to the children. Get ready to read, maybe get a little messy with art/science, and have fun!

Locations and times - these are the times the children are present- we ask for you to arrive about 15 min. ahead of schedule for set-up, etc., if possible.
